| Abstract: | The twenty scientific papers compiled in this report on pulmonary physiology are organized under the following sections: Mechanics of Respiration and Pressure Breathing; Gas Exchange; Ventilation-Perfusion Relationships; Blood Gases; Nitrogen and Inert Gases; and Tissue Gas Exchange. This is the sixth volume in a series of studies to develop a more thorough knowledge of the phenomena and mechanics of arterial-alveolar gas exchange during various conditions, to perform research on rates of gas washout, to perform research on ventilation and perfusion and to study cardiac output before, during, and after exercise.
