Abstract: The subjects employed were 27 enlisted men awaiting the start of the next class at the Basic Submarine School. Throughout the period of the experiment, these men were restricted, and were instructed to get normal sleep, so that the factors of alcohol and fatigue might be controlled. Fourteen of these men received their first test in the morning and thirteen in the afternoon. Their retest took place 48 hours after their original test. The order in which the men were tested was constant. The results indicate that the reliability of scores on the Wright Adaptometer made by the subjects is well below that of scores made by comparable subjects on other adaptometers.
