Title: Foxboro Decomputer Mark I.
Author: Searle, WF, Jr
Abstract: An ONR research project at Scripps Institute of Oceanography in 1953 sponsored a theoretical design of a decompression analog computer a prototype of which was subsequently manufactured by the Foxboro Company and presented to NEDU for evaluation. The evaluation indicates that the method of approach is practicable but that the computer as submitted requires extensive refinement to ensure consistency and to extend the range of accuracy (as compared to standard decompression tables and to theoretical calculations).
