Limited Evaluation of U.S. Divers Co. Revised Single-Stage Aqua Lung Regulator (Mistral).

Abstract

A prototype of a new model, single-stage open circuit Scuba produced by U.S. Divers Company is given a limited mechanical respirator evaluation. The regulator is identified as the 'MISTRAL' with venturi action. The mechanical respirator characteristics are compared with similar data from U.S. Divers Co.'s earlier DX and DW single stage units. The MISTRAL's respiratory characteristics (machine only) are similar to the new two-stage regulator and superior to the older DW regulator. The regulator, with the old style exhaust valve substituted, meets the mechanical respirator test criteria. (Author)
