Abstract: Proceedings of the Undersea Medical Society Workshop (2nd) on Respiratory Limitations of Underwater Breathing Equipment Held at Harvard University School of Public Health on 14-15. Individual presentations along with conclusions and recommendations for future research in the following areas are presented: Recent problems posed by underwater breathing equipment in deep diving; engineering of underwater breathing apparatus; physiological testing of UBA; effects on respiratory mechanics of UBA; effects of underwater breathing equipment on ventilation and gas exchange.
