Title: Aerodontalgia under hyperbaric conditions
Author: Shiller, W
Abstract: In an effort to determine the extent and causes of the occurrence of aerodontalgia due to hyperbaric conditions encountered as a part of routine requirements for entrance into the Basic Submarine School, the case histories of 45 men who experienced this type of dental pain were analyzed. It was found highly probable that pressure involvement of the maxillary sinuses had a role in producing aerodontalgia in a large number of the cases. Further studies will be required to clarify the role of other factors in producing dental pain under hyperbaric conditions.
