Title: The Longitudinal Health Study: A Multiphasic Medical Surveillance Program For U. S. Navy Submarine And Diving Personnel.

Abstract: The Longitudinal Health Study is an ongoing medical surveillance program designed to analyze multiphasic health parameters among submarine and diving personnel occupationally exposed to specialized environmental stresses. Traditional as well as specialized health data is tabulated on Hollerith cards for immediate editing and storage and for ultimate retrieval and multivariate analysis. Anticipated and unanticipated biological effects of specialized environmental stresses will be identified with the gaol of controlling them. The present report updates previous descriptions by redefining and illustrating the biomedical content of each phase of the study.
