Title: Oxygen Diving Unit 1 Report: An Independent Apparatus for Underwater Respiration
Author: Lambertsen, CJ
Abstract: A simple harness, designed for ease and rapidity of donning, provides the foundation for the respiratory unit. Two buckles on the chest straps permit quick adjustment of the extremes of humid size and shape. These are only rarely required. A brass plate over the abdomen serves as a base by which a small oxygen cylinder is fastened to the harness. On the harness strap over the left chest is a small metal ring for the attachment of a safety rope when desired. Above the belt at the back of the harness are four metal snaps by means of which a canvas envelope containing lead weight can be attached. Under certain conditions this extra weight is desireable.
